Career Highlights:
- Kicked off my coding journey in a startup as a software engineer.
- Leveled up in 2017 by joining another startup, adding more tools to my coding utility belt.
- Co-founded Happiana, I learned a lot from this experience specially how to deal with investors and how to get funding.
- Co-founded Elegate, which had 250K users and created a platform for restaurant orders, partnering with 70 restaurants.
- Currently, I am a Senior Software Engineer at Avenga.
Projects
Chef Next Door – Food-Tech Marketplace
Full-stack platform built and launched in Australia. Architected the backend systems including business rule engine, order management, and image uploads, while owning the frontend end-to-end. Serving thousands of users with real chefs actively using the platform.
Anas Ibrahem Photography Website
Portfolio website for a professional photographer. Led development and mentored a junior developer through delivery. The photographer saw a 30% increase in leads after launch.
The Cave
Created this project from scratch using Vite, ReactJS, and TanStack Query. Built the backend with Node.js and a graph database using Neo4j. It features a responsive design, chat functionality, and more.
Moving Forward Books
A joint venture by Bao Books and Esmat Publishing to distribute books by artists, studios, and indie publishers across the Arabic-speaking region and globally.
Egyptian phrases
Kalam Masry, It's an Egyptian learning website based on the most appearance for the words I collected from Twitter, in 2020 I created a Twitter bot that post some images and some random jokes, meanwhile I was collecting this dataset from the region, after 4 years my wife started teaching Egyptian language, I got inspired from her. I thought about my dataset, how can I help her and her students with this. Then I decided to create Klam Masry | كلام مصري | Egyptian Phrases, it's a simple platform to display the most used Egyptian words and phrases.
Clear Cut | AI Background Remover
AI-powered tool that removes image backgrounds using machine learning models (U2Net, ISNet, BiRefNet). Includes a built-in image editor for cropping, resizing, and background color compositing — all in the browser via Canvas API. Deployed on a VPS using Docker with Cloudflare for domain and SSL.
Sadda Radda — Street Football Legends
A digital recreation of the classic Egyptian street football game from childhood. Built with Vite and Phaser.js, it brings the nostalgic gameplay of "Block & Return" to the web—where you shoot, your opponent blocks it, then shoots back.
